Despite all these difficulties, the people of Uzbekistan celebrate a great holiday for every citizen of our country – Independence Day, with large-scale achievements, significant successes in all spheres of activity, demonstrating strength of spirit, unity, and determination to achieve their goals.
This includes the team of the Almalyk mining and smelting combine, which achieves high results with daily creative work.
I would like to note that our company in these difficult conditions, thanks to the support of the country's leadership and the dedicated work of workers, did not stop working for a single day, but on the contrary increased the production rate, the total volume of which amounted to 13 trillion 493 billion UZS in 8 months. Significant growth rates were achieved in almost all indicators, so the growth rate for copper production was 103.1%, for gold-104.7%, silver - 135.5%, and cement - 103.9%.
As a result of the well-coordinated work of our team, the receipts of funds to the state budget from the plant increased, for 8 months they amounted to 5 trillion 761 billion UZS, which is 153.8% higher than expected.
Despite the repeated termination of air and rail services during March and July, and the global price decline, the plant has provided exports of products worth 460.1 million USD.
This year was marked for ASMC with historical documents, signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyayev, under which the project to expand the production of base and precious metals on the basis of deposits of JSC "Almalyk MSC" was launched, which will ensure the production of up to 400 thousand tons cathodic copper, 50 tons of gold, 270 tons of silver by 2028, the additional 10 thousand new jobs will be created.
Today, as part of this project, mining and capital works are underway at the Yoshlik I field, and construction of the copper processing plant No. 3 has begun. These works involve 1,479 employees and 330 loading and transport vehicles in three shifts. In parallel with the main objects, infrastructure facilities are being built here, highways are being built, and a railway track is being laid.
A lot of work is being done at the enterprise to equip production with modern equipment, new equipment, and the introduction of new technologies. To date, 1 trillion 630 billion UZS of construction and installation works have been completed in this direction, which allowed to put into operation 18 large industrial facilities, including 5 complexes of medium crushing, high-frequency screening of the Derrick Corporation company at the copper processing plant, modern polymer electrolysis baths and polymer chutes for transporting solutions at the zinc plant, KVK-4 at the united tailings damps, etc.
The implementation of the Program for the development of production of rare and rare earth metals carried out over the past two years gives results. This is evidenced by the production of metal molybdenum for 8 months of this year in the amount of 468 tons, which is twice higher than in the same period last year. The improvement of palladium production technology made it possible to export 430 kilograms of this metal for the first time until September 2020.
This year, the geography has expanded and the number of AMSC enterprises has increased. According to the government's decision, 100% of the shares of the Kyzylkum phosphorite complex were transferred to our plant, and the controlling stake in JSC "Ammofos-Maxam" was transferred to the trust management of AMSC. A single technological chain has been created from the extraction and processing of raw materials to the production of finished products-mineral fertilizers. Thanks to the complex measures for improvement of management of productive processes, logistics, financial rehabilitation, repair of equipment, increased processing of ore and production of phosphorous concentrate at Kyzylkum phosphorite complex, which in turn stabilized the production capacities of JSC "Ammofos-Maksam".
Traditionally, this year the plant has implemented a number of comprehensive measures for the social protection of the plant's workers and their families, who live not only in Almalyk, but also in other regions where AMSC divisions are located. The reconstruction of the main building of the dispensary for 82 places has been completed, and the remaining buildings will be commissioned in the coming months. On the eve of the holiday, a canteen complex with three halls for 250 seats was put into operation at the copper processing plant.
In Angren, the combine commissioned a swimming complex with 258 seats for spectators, where it is possible to hold competitions in three Olympic sports.
In Chirchik, AMSC workers completed landscaping works on the Boz-Su canal embankment for the Independence Day, where cafes, playgrounds were built, and all conditions for residents' recreation were created.
I would like to emphasize that work on these social facilities, despite the pandemic, did not stop for a single day, and was carried out in full compliance with all quarantine measures.
In addition, we provided significant assistance in the fight against coronavirus infection – more than 11 billion 209 million UZS were transferred to the established funds. We took part in the construction of a quarantine zone in the Urtachirchik district, and we additionally equipped several hundred places for the treatment of patients in the city. At the expense of AMSC funds, a Virology laboratory was built and equipped in Almalyk, which made it possible to speed up the process of identifying infected citizens.
Our team took an active part in providing assistance to families affected by flooding as a result of the break of the Sardoba reservoir dam and in eliminating its consequences.
Despite the huge financial costs, JSC Almalyk MSC fulfills all its obligations stipulated in the Collective agreement, paying special attention to those points where it concerns the social protection of workers, support for production veterans, families who lost their breadwinner at work, and others.
All the success of the plant is, first of all, the creative work of its team. And I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their professionalism, efficiency, and dedication. It is the work of each of you that becomes the basis for the glory, stability, and reliability of our company.
We are preparing for a significant event during the ongoing pandemic, when quarantine measures in our country have already been relaxed, but have not yet been completely lifted. And, despite the fact that the number of new cases has been steadily decreasing over the past few days, we need to be careful and careful, observing the basic requirements of quarantine. Therefore, I urge all of you to celebrate the holiday with the people close to you.
On the eve of the main holiday of our sovereign state - the 29th anniversary of independence, on behalf of SFI Management Group and the Board of JSC Almalyk MSC, I wish you and your families well-being, best interests at heart and good luck!
May the life of our children and grandchildren be happy!
May peace and tranquility always reign in our country, and may the sky be clear over our Homeland – Uzbekistan!
