During the head of state's visit to Bekabad, and specifically to JSC “O’zbekiston Metallurgiya Kombinati”, a number of strategic objectives were outlined aimed at further developing the industry and elevating the collaboration between science and industry to a qualitatively new level.

To implement these instructions and consistently implement the outlined objectives, a meeting was held on 16 July at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex to discuss the effective use of the GeoMetTech Advanced Engineering School and current areas of scientific and practical research.

The event was attended by Abdulla Khursanov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex”, the Complex management and specialists, as well as representatives of the country's leading higher education institutions, including Tashkent State Technical University, Tashkent Chemical Technology Institute, Tashkent State Agrarian University, CYBER University, the Almalyk branch of NUST “MISIS”, and the Almalyk State Technical Institute.

During the meeting, Shavkat Saidullaev, Director of the GeoMetTex Advanced Engineering School, presented detailed information about the educational institution's activities, its history, initial achievements, educational programs, and future goals and objectives.

The participants were also briefed on the Complex major achievements, including the implementation of the Copper Processing Plant-3 construction project and the results of its collaboration with international research institutes.

Addressing the audience, Abdulla Khursanov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Almalyk MMC”, emphasized that the Advanced Engineering School provides domestic universities with the opportunity to establish direct collaboration with reputable international research centers and leading international companies that partner with the Complex.

As noted, the new engineering school has been given with an important task: not only developing solutions for the Complex production needs but also creating promising technologies with the potential for subsequent commercialization.

Continuing with the implementation of the President's directive to create a digital platform for systematizing industry issues, which was assigned to the Center for Economic Research and Reform, the AMMC Science and Innovation Department presented university representatives with a list of pressing production challenges requiring a scientific approach and modern research solutions.

During the discussion, scientists and representatives of higher education institutions put forward a number of proposals for further strengthening cooperation. In particular, initiatives were put forward to create co-working zones similar to those found in technology parks, include intellectual property protection in educational programs, and provide 24/7 access to library resources.

Following the meeting, important decisions were made to ensure the implementation of the head of state's instructions. In particular, additional agreements will be concluded with universities willing to collaborate closely, and conditions for industrial testing will be created for their research projects.

Furthermore, a unified digital platform for collecting and reviewing proposals for improving production efficiency will be created based on the Complex existing system. Its capabilities will subsequently be made available to partner educational institutions.

Responsible officials were instructed to coordinate the negotiation process and interaction between the parties, assist in the preparation of business plans, and form a special council for this area of ​​activity.

During the visit, the event participants also acquainted with the work of the control center of the Production Coordination Department.
