+998 71 619 23 33For several years, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) has been developing mutually beneficial partnerships with some of the world’s leading higher education institutions. Among them, cooperation with Germany’s Freiberg University of Technology – Mining Academy continues to strengthen year by year.
On October 14, a delegation from the Academy visited AMMC to become better acquainted with the complex’s activities.
The delegation, led by Professor Holger Lieberwirth, representing the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Process Technology, and Energy Systems, first visited the “Kalmakyr” and “Yoshlik-1” mines, where they observed the mining operations and the use of modern technologies.
They also toured the Central Mechanical and Repair Plant and the Copper Concentrator Plant-2, where AMMC specialists demonstrated the technical maintenance of equipment and ore processing technologies.
During the visit, particular attention was paid to issues of engineering education and experience exchange.
At a meeting held at the Engineering School, discussions focused on the training of young specialists and the prospects for joint scientific projects.
In addition, representatives of the Academy conducted a seminar for twelve master’s students of the “GeomeTech” Advanced Engineering School on the topic “Modern Methods and Equipment for Copper Ore Processing.”
The visit plays an important role in strengthening the partnership between one of Uzbekistan’s leading industrial enterprises and one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious mining universities.
