“Yashil Makon”: Where there’s a business, there’s a garden.

When it comes to the mining industry, green spaces are often overlooked. However, at the Kauldy mine, this is a practical focus: green areas are being consistently created near production facilities – the result of systematic work that has been ongoing for years and continues today.

Over the course of its operation, approximately 27 thousands trees have been planted on four hectares of land.

This year alone, the team planted 3,000 poplar saplings and 10,000 poplar cuttings outside the city limits. The goal is to create a continuous protective forest belt. These belts trap dust and sand, moderate temperature fluctuations, strengthen the soil, and prevent erosion. In Uzbekistan’s arid climate, every hectare of this “green belt” makes a real contribution to combating desertification and overheating.

In parallel with the work outside the city limits, an orchard has been established within the company’s grounds. The workers planted 500 grapevines and 500 fruit trees – apple, apricot, peach, and almond – with their own hands, capturing the full diversity of an Uzbek garden. A special highlight is the lemon garden, created by the workers themselves: fresh lemons are now regularly delivered directly to the tables of the company’s workers’ cafeterias.

Caring for the environment is not limited to the production area. On the company’s assigned plot of Almalyk’s main street, 1,000 basil bushes and 2,000 saffron and petunia plants have been planted. The fragrant, living border along the sidewalks and the vibrant floral surrounds aren’t just a decoration for the city; they’re an invitation to residents to notice, preserve, and enhance the beauty around them.

So, step by step, the area around the plant and the city itself is becoming greener and more comfortable. The work continues: the seedlings are tended, the plantings are replenished, meaning the results will only improve over time. This simple but important work benefits both the company and the city.
