On 7 August 2020, the Ministry of Mining and Geology organized the training and practical seminar at the Engineering School of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex on "Digitalization Projects and the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the Mining and Geological Sector" for advisors of region administrations, as well as districts in the Tashkent region and the city of Tashkent, on the application of artificial intelligence technologies.

The event was chaired by First Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology F. Khamidova. Its main goal was to provide methodological and practical support to the advisors on the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, as well as to share accumulated experience.

During the seminar, O. Fayzullaev, Head of the Technological Transformation Center, the representatives of the Ministry and JSC “Almalyk MMC” presented the results of their work on the implementation of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in production and management processes, as well as promising innovative projects.

Particular attention was paid to discussing issues of interest to the seminar participants. In an open dialogue format, the possibilities for widespread implementation of digital solutions, successfully tested within the ministry and at the enterprise, in regions and local governments were examined in detail.

To enable the participants to directly experience the practical results of the presented solutions, a tour of the Complex largest production facilities was organized for them. Specifically, the guests visited the “Qalmaqqir” mine's observation deck, where they were introduced to digitalized production processes, automated control systems for the mining and transport complex, as well as the operations of the recently commissioned Copper Processing Plant-3 and the information technologies being implemented at its production facilities. The participants highly praised the plant's technological potential and the potential for applying digital solutions in the mining and metallurgical industry.

At the conclusion of the event, the Technological Transformation Center presented proposals for further consistent provision of methodological and practical support to regional administrations, as well as strengthening systemic interaction and cooperation in the field of digitalization and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.
