10 April 2026, 10:33 366

The preventive measures are regularly held at the structural divisions of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. The latest such meetings were organized for employees of the Qalmaqqir Mine Administration and the “Yoshlik” Mine.

The events were attended by the representative of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Almalyk town, Adviser to the Head of Town Admnistration, J. Pardayev; the offices of the interior affairs authority at AMMC, A. Abdukodirov; Imam of the Abdukakhkhor Imom Makhsus Mosque in Akhangaran District, A. Bakhodirov; Investigator of the Almalyk Department of Internal Affairs' Investigative Department N. Abdurakhmanov; and Gulnoza Sabrieva, responsible officer of the AMMC compliance service.

The event was held in the format of an open dialogue. The participants discussed issues of countering religious extremism, preventing involvement in destructive religious movements, and combating corruption.

– Even our great ancestor, Sahibkiran Amir Temur, conducted a fierce and uncompromising fight against that evil. During his reign, the activities of officials were under constant scrutiny: inspections, audits, and investigations were regularly conducted. Abuse of power, bribery, drunkenness, and immoral behavior were considered grave offenses, punishable by severe penalties.

According to historical sources, even Timur's son Miranshah and his grandsons Pirmuhammad and Halil Sultan were subjected to public punishment for violating these norms.

Corruption undermines the foundations of democracy and the rule of law, erodes citizens' trust in state institutions and authorities, and leads to human rights violations. It hinders the development of a market economy and fair competition, and promotes the monopolization of certain industries and activities. It creates conditions for large-scale misappropriation of budget funds, worsens the quality of life, exacerbates social inequality, and leads to an increase in the number of low-income and vulnerable citizens. Furthermore, corruption facilitates the development of organized crime, terrorism, and other criminal offenses, and entails numerous other negative consequences. – noted Gulnoza Sabrieva.

During the meeting, responsible specialists used real-life examples to explain the grave consequences of corruption to participants and once again urged everyone to remain vigilant.

It is worth noting that similar events are planned for all structural divisions. They will address topics such as "Preventing and Resolving Conflicts of Interest," "Preventing and Combating Corruption," and the key provisions of the President's Address to the People of Uzbekistan and the Oliy Majlis dated 26 December 2025.
