Construction of the Kauldy Gold Processing Plant Progressing Rapidly

25 September 2025, 12:23 1075

In order to increase precious-metal production in Uzbekistan and ensure the efficient use of natural resources, the implementation of the “Construction of the Kauldy Gold Processing Plant” project by the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) is advancing at a rapid pace.

Currently, construction and installation work at the facility are being carried out by the “Almalyk metallurgical construction” Trust.

According to Dilorom Asrayeva, Head of the Production and Technical Department of the Trust, finishing works are now underway at 25x15-meter administrative and utility building of the plant.

In the production facility, roof trusses have been fully installed, while 80% of the auxiliary columns have been mounted. Foundations for flotation machines are being poured, along with ongoing installation of metal structures and foundations for the press filters. A total of 7,000 square meters of sandwich panels are planned to be installed on the roofs and walls of the buildings, of which 1,000 square meters have already been completed. Installation of metal structures for two thickeners is also in progress. As of today, 45% of the overall construction work has been completed.

For reference, the plant is designed to process ore extracted from the “Kauldy” and “Lower-Kenjasoy” mines, enabling the extraction of precious metals from 200,000 ton of raw materials annually.

Construction of the plant began in February of this year and is scheduled for commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2025. Notably, the plant’s equipment is being manufactured by the Central Repair and Mechanical Plant under AMMC’s localization program. The facility is being constructed entirely by AMMC’s own workforce and specialists. The reinforced concrete structures used in construction are also being produced by the “Almalyk metallurgical construction” Trust.

Once commissioned, the plant will create 151 new jobs. It will become AMMC’s third gold processing facility, following the plants in Angren and Chadak.
