13 November 2025, 13:44 382

Yesterday, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology hosted the fourth meeting of women leaders within the framework of “Europe–Uzbekistan – AMMC Partners.”

As is known, the Women Leaders Meeting was initially launched at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

The key significance of this fourth meeting, held at the initiative of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, is that it brought together women from all subordinate sectors and enterprises.

The event was opened by Manfred Huterer, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan, and Azam Kodirkhodjayev, Rector of the University of Geological Sciences.

The session was moderated by the First Deputy Minister, Feruza Khamidova.

Throughout the day, topics such as “My Identity: Who Am I?”, “Family and Professional Responsibilities,” “What Strength Do You Need to Become a Leader?”, “Who is a Leader?” and similar themes were discussed.

Speakers included Sevora Madgaziyeva, Deputy Head of the “Export Finance” Unitary Enterprise for the United Kingdom and Central Asia; Nargiza Tokhtamisheva, Head of the Ministry’s Human Resources Department, who spoke on “Non-traditional Professions for Women” and “Women’s Leadership: How to See Your Own Potential”; entrepreneur Kamola Mirzaliyeva; and Sojida Toshpolatova, Country Director for Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan at the International Finance Corporation. They shared their experiences, personal insights, and professional reflections.

Moderators Feruza Khamidova, Deputy Minister, and Yekaterina Galitsina, Director for Business Development for Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the South Caucasus at Germany’s KfW IPEX Bank GmbH, discussed topics such as “Achieving Goals. What Comes Next? Opportunities for Developing a Portfolio Career.”

Women leaders from various sectors participating within the Uzbekistan–Europe cooperation framework also shared their experiences, successes, and the secrets behind their achievements. More than 200 female specialists and managers from enterprises within the ministry’s system—including the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex, Bekabad Metallurgical Complex, and other organizations in mining, metallurgy, and geology—took part in the meeting.

The fourth meeting of women leaders in the mining, metallurgy, and geology fields proved highly informative and meaningful, concluding with a spirit of unity and confidence in the future.

Afterward, the participants visited the Geology Museum, where they explored the museum’s rich exhibits and had the opportunity to see both historical and modern innovations up close.

This forum of women leaders, held within the “Europe – Uzbekistan – AMMC Partners” framework, demonstrated that women are not only active contributors to the country’s social, economic, cultural-educational, and scientific life, but also a vital source of future development.
