+998 71 619 23 33Today, elders of the city of Almalyk and chairmen of mahalla citizens' assemblies familiarized themselves with the reforms being carried out at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.
First, the elders and mahalla chairmen visited the Engineering School and examined the educational process in the modern training laboratories, equipment, and practical areas. The engineering school, established to retrain professional engineering and technical personnel for the needs of the combine, was designed based on the model of the training center of the German company "Aurubis." At the engineering school, specialists are being trained in the following fields: geology, mining, mining industry transport, surveying, mineral processing, metallurgy, mechanics, energy, and production automation.
The veterans also familiarized themselves with the project of a new advanced engineering school. For information, at the initiative of our President, the advanced engineering school "GeoMetTech" was established jointly with the MISiS Science and Technology University and the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex in April of this year. The Advanced Engineering School will provide the industrial complex of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, with highly qualified engineers capable of solving the strategic tasks of the long-term development of industries using new knowledge and skills. 12 students were admitted to the school for the 2025/2026 academic year under the master's program "Enrichment of non-ferrous metal ores" of the Metallurgy specialty.
After that, the veterans and mahalla chairmen, accompanied by the chairman of the board of JSC "Almalyk MMC," Senator Abdulla Khursanov, also visited the 3rd copper processing plant. They witnessed the activities of the factory, production facilities, and landscaping work carried out in the area.
The construction project of the 3rd Copper Concentrator was implemented using the world's most advanced technologies and high quality standards. It is one of the largest and most strategically important industrial facilities in the industry.
This project, which ranks among the world's largest mining and metallurgical complexes, has risen rapidly thanks to the special attention and support of our esteemed President.
The launch of the 3rd Copper Concentrating Plant is significant because it contributes to the effective use of copper price trends in the world market, increasing export revenues of the Republic of Uzbekistan, diversifying local production, and systematically developing the "copper cluster" in the national economy.
Processing 60 million tons of ore per year and producing about 900 thousand tons of copper concentrate, this plant is the largest copper-producing complex not only in the Republic of Uzbekistan, but also in all of Central Asia.
Participants of the event also planted tree seedlings on the territory of the factory within the framework of the nationwide project "Green Space."
During the event, an animal was sacrificed, and the elders expressed their good wishes and recited prayers. It was noted that this project will enhance the well-being of our people and the economic power of our country.
