As previously reported, an international men’s handball tournament dedicated to the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, was held in Baku.

Alongside Azerbaijan’s “Kyur,” “Baku,” “Qarabagh” teams, as well as Kazakhstan’s national team and “Astana,” the AMMC handball team also took part in the competition.

Under the leadership of coach Hasan Qayumov, our representatives played all matches with great spirit and achieved victory.

On August 31, they defeated “Astana” with a score of 45–23.
On September 1, they overcame the host team “Kyur” by 31–25.
On September 2, they triumphed over “Baku” with a score of 30–20.
Finally, on September 3, in the final match, our players defeated the Kazakhstan national team to secure the championship title.

Thus, the AMMC handball players became the winners of the international tournament.

For reference, in 2023, the AMMC men’s handball team participated in the 50th Interamnia World Cup — a traditional international handball competition held in Teramo, Italy — and won the World Cup.
