As part of the large-scale investment project “Development of the Yoshlik I Deposit”, recognized as the project of the century, three state-of-the-art ‘HITACHI EH4000AC-3’ mining dump trucks have been delivered to the fleet of the Technological Transport Department.

These modern giant vehicles were fully delivered in separate components in July of this year, promptly assembled by specialists, and made ready for operation in a short period.

On August 22, 2024, Chairman of the Board of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC (AMMC), Abdulla Khursanov, met with representatives of the company’s transport sector ahead of commissioning these mining giants into production.

During the meeting, Abdulla Khursanov emphasized that these modern dump trucks would be used in Uzbekistan for the first time at the ‘Yoshlik I’ deposit. He noted that they will play a significant role in achieving production targets, improving ore transportation efficiency, and announced that more of such modern heavy-duty machines would be supplied to the Technological Transport Department in the future.

Manufactured using advanced Japanese technology, each vehicle has a load capacity of 221 tons and features a driver’s cabin equipped with all necessary conditions and amenities. The fully electronic automated control system allows for smooth and effortless operation, minimizing driver fatigue. A powerful ‘KAMMINZ’ internal combustion engine enhances its load-lifting and transport capabilities, while its robust frame and reinforced chassis ensure greater strength and stability compared to other models.

The dump trucks are also equipped with 360-degree video surveillance cameras, enabling comprehensive visibility during operation. The traction system, supported by modern generators and electric traction motors, significantly simplifies operation and improves performance. Additionally, the trucks include advanced systems that prevent slippage, reduce longitudinal vibrations, eliminate lateral movement, and feature electrodynamic braking, automatic speed control, and the ability to maintain preset speed ranges even when moving downhill.

Specialized training courses were also organized by the manufacturer’s experts for 33 drivers of the Technological Transport Department to ensure safe and efficient operation of these giant vehicles.

Now, three “HITACHI EH4000AC-3” mining dump trucks have officially joined the workforce at the ‘Yoshlik I’ deposit, becoming reliable assistants to miners. Another seven units of this model are expected to be delivered in the near future.

In addition, between 2017 and 2020, the ‘Yoshlik I’ deposit received 54 ‘BelAZ’ dump trucks with a 130-ton capacity and 29 units with a 220-ton capacity, all of which are currently in use for rock transportation.

In 2024, as part of the localization project, five ‘NMT-240’ dump trucks with a 236-ton load capacity, jointly produced in Uzbekistan, were also delivered and are now operating at the site.

The delivery of these new dump trucks to the AMMC can rightfully be considered a worthy gift to mark the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.
