Today, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex is confidently strengthening its position not only in Uzbekistan but also on the global metallurgical industry stage. Given this dynamic, proficiency in English opens up broad professional opportunities for the plant's specialists.

On 5 February this year, a meeting was held at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMP) with senior officials from the United States Embassy in Uzbekistan, the specialists from World Learning, and plant specialists. During the talks, prospects for English language training for the plant's employees were discussed.

Specifically, the parties considered the possibility of offering free English language training to mining and metallurgical workers using a five-level MOOC educational platform.

It was noted that the key advantage of this platform is its practical focus: training includes specialized mining and metallurgical terminology, professional communication skills and discussion skills. All classes are held online, allowing for the combination of training and production without disrupting workflow. Upon completion of the course, the participants will receive a certificate.

The platform will open to the Complex employees on February 15, after which registration will begin.

Furthermore, during the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop cooperation with leading American universities, including the Colorado School of Mines which specializes in training engineers for the mining and metallurgy industries. It is planned to organize seminars, training sessions, and educational courses for the Complex specialists, with the participation of faculty from these educational institutions.

The embassy representatives also noted the possibility of attracting highly qualified specialists from the United States with many years of practical experience to AMMC for short-term exchanges and professional development.
