In April of this year, the advanced engineering school "GeoMetTech" was created on the basis of the Almalyk branch of the University of Science and Technology MISIS together with JSC "Almalyk Mining & Metallurgical Combine".
Today, entrance exams to the advanced engineering school in the first direction of study – enrichment – were held at the Almalyk branch of NUST MISIS, where 12 people will be accepted. 44 people applied for training. In two hours allocated for assessment of preparedness, candidates demonstrated their knowledge of enrichment.
The participants of the selection who scored the highest number of points will continue their training at the advanced engineering school.
For information: The main goal of creating the advanced engineering school "GeoMetTex" is to train highly qualified engineering specialists for the industries of Uzbekistan, capable of applying modern technologies, possessing a creative approach and capable of solving strategic problems in production.
In the future, the advanced engineering school provides training in such areas as "Mining", "Metallurgy of rare, rare earth and heavy metals", "Digital materials science and new technologies", "Digital transformation of technological processes".
It should be noted that the first students of the advanced engineering school were Fatima and Zukhra Tursunova, who graduated from the Almalyk branch of NUST MISIS this year. The winners of numerous competitions were admitted to the school without exams.
Zukhra Tursunova: – Together with my sister Fatima, we took part in the international competition of project works named after Academician A.A. Bochvar and scored 97 and 98 points respectively. We also took part in the international championship in engineering CASE-IN as part of our university team and became prize winners. These achievements allowed us to enter the newly created advanced engineering school without exams. Of course, my sister and I were very happy about this. Now we study at the school with experienced teachers – the professors from Moscow. We are grateful to the President of our country for the conditions created for the realization of the potential, knowledge and talents of young people. We will definitely apply the knowledge obtained during the training for the development of our country and the plant.
Master's students of the advanced engineering school in the 2025/2026 academic year will study in the direction of "Mineral Processing". Each of them is hired by the structural divisions of the plant and will study and work in parallel. The training of the first 12 students of the advanced engineering school will be carried out at the expense of the Almalyk Mining & Metallurgical Combine.
