Angren welcomed spring with a vibrant event – the renovated "New Angren" cultural and sports complex opened its doors in the “Mirzo Ulugbek” mahalla. Its major renovation and equipment were made possible thanks to the support of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Chair of the Committee for Family and Women's Affairs Zulaykho Makhkamova, Deputy Chairman of the “Nuroniy” Foundation for Supporting the Social Activity of Veterans of Uzbekistan Sharof Ubaydullaev, the representatives of the Ministries of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Head of Tashkent Region Administration Zoir Mirzaev, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex" and Senator Abdulla Khursanov, mahalla residents, veterans, the representatives of various nationalities, activists from national cultural centers, and the general public.

The symbolic ribbon was cut, and the sport complex officially opened its doors.

For the past two years, extensive works costing 31 billion UZS has been completed here: the halls and utilities have been renovated, the grounds have been landscaped, and modern infrastructure for sports and creativity has been created.

The festive atmosphere permeated the sport complex's courtyard on its opening day: folk art exhibitions, the friendship and peace drawings competition, sports competitions, and tasting of national dishes under the motto "Dastarkhan of Unity and Kindness." The presentation of "Book Café" and the literary evening "Caravan of Books" were of particular interest.

The guests toured the spacious gymnasium, fitness and shaping rooms, and art and music clubs. The second floor houses dance, vocal, theater, and folklore classes. Now, the Angren youth can participate in gymnastics, wrestling, track and field, volleyball, basketball, and mini-football.

The building is decorated in a national style, and the Academy of Arts has prepared portraits of famous actors and writers. The area has been landscaped: trees have been planted, gazebos have been installed, and decorative paving has been laid along the paths.

The group of the Complex builders and the responsible persons who made significant contributions to the construction of this facility were also recognized with valuable gifts, letters of gratitude, Certificates of Honor, and departmental badges.

Specifically, Abdulla Khursanov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Almalyk MMC”, was awarded the "Madaniyat va san'at fidokori" (Honored Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan) and the "Excellent Physical Culture and Sports" award from the Ministry of Sports.

Sa'di Shermatov, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Personnel and Social Affairs at JSC “Almalyk MMC”, was awarded the "Madaniyat va san'at fidokori" (Honoured Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan) award from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Angren residents are confident that the new sport complex will become the center of spiritual life, culture, and sports, and a place for young people to usefully spend their free time.

Zinnat Khayitkulova, a resident of the “Mirzo Ulugbek” mahalla in Angren, shared her impressions:

"On such festive days, the opening of a wonderful cultural and sports complex in our mahalla was a joy for all residents. All the conditions have been created here for young people to spend their free time meaningfully and productively. The new opportunities are a joy to behold. On behalf of all residents, we express our gratitude to the head of our country for such good deeds."

The modern complex, donated to the residents of Angren by Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, will undoubtedly become an important center uniting spirituality, culture, and sports for the entire population.
