Construction of the Gold Recovery Plant is Nearing Completion

07 April 2026, 9:34 495

In order to expand the deposit's resource base and efficiently utilize the newly released capacity, the geologists from Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex conducted the exploration works at the new “Kuyi-Kenzhasoy” gold deposit from 2016 to 2022.

According to their calculations, the mineral production here is expected to last more than 10 years. Opening work began in 2025.

Capital mining operations are currently ongoing. Gold ore mining is planned to begin in 2027-2028. Geologists are simultaneously conducting additional exploration works in the adjacent areas. In conjunction with the deposit's development, construction of the gold recovery plant is underway.

The new plant is designed to process ore mined at the “Kauldy” and “Kuyi-Kenzhasoy” deposits. Its design capacity is 200,000 tons of raw material per year.

Trust Olmalikmetallurgqurilish is carrying out construction of the facility. Construction and installation work is currently approximately 90% complete. Specifically, the two-story administrative and housekeeping building has already been completed, and the canteen is fully equipped. In the production building, the main construction works have been completed, and the steel structures have been fully assembled. Sandwich panels and wall cladding (with a total area of 3,900 square meters) have been installed. Installation of window frames and metal doors is currently underway. Construction of the open ore storage facility has been completed. Construction, installation, and finishing works are ongoing in the reagent storage facility. The main process equipment has already been installed: flotation machines, hydrocyclones, mills, classifiers, conditioning tanks, and thickener No. 1. Auxiliary buildings for engineering and technical personnel and workers are undergoing finishing work. Concurrently, cable lines for the plant's lighting system are being laid. Overhead cranes with lifting capacities of 2, 5, and 20 tons have been installed. The installation of the main slurry pipeline is 90% complete. Construction of the guard building is ongoing. Extensive landscaping and landscaping work is also underway at the site.

Various divisions of the Complex are actively involved in the project: the Specialized Repairs Department, the Production Automation Department, the Technical Security Systems Department, the Motor Transport Department, the Logistics Department, and the Kauldy Mine Administration. The Capital Construction and Design Departments also play a key role.

The construction of this plant is one of the key strategic projects of the AMMC. Commissioning of the facility will enable more efficient use of the local raw material base, consistently increase gold production volumes, and strengthen the national gold reserves.

Notably, the equipment for the plant was manufactured at the Complex central repair and mechanical plant as part of the Localization Program.

For reference: after the plant's commissioning, additional 151 new jobs will be created. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in the near future.
