“Our native language is an inexhaustible source of nation spirituality. Therefore, showing it due respect is not only our duty, but also a sacred human obligation.”

Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Language is an essential part of a nation’s identity. That is why, even in the earliest days of independence, the Uzbek language was granted the status of the state language. Today its prestige on the international stage continues to grow, and it is becoming a widely used means of communication. The increasing use of the Uzbek language at official meetings and negotiations of various levels, as well as the establishment of Uzbek language centers in foreign universities and research institutions – where the number of those eager to learn our mother language keeps growing – are clear evidence of this.

Indeed, the past, the present, and future of every nation – its very existence – is reflected in one fundamental element: its native language. When speaking about the Uzbek language, we see that it holds a unique place among the languages of the world.

On October 16 this year, a spiritual and educational event titled “The Uzbek Language Unites Us All!” was held at the “Metallurg” Palace of Culture in celebration of the 36th anniversary of the Uzbek language being granted state language status.

At the event, prominent literary figures Shodmonkul Salom and Dilmurod Dust shared heartfelt reflections on the beauty of the language, the magic of words, and the pride it brings to the nation.

Performances by young artists, poetry readings, songs, and the concert program of the “Metallurg” cultural team created a festive atmosphere for all attendees.

During the ceremony, winners and active participants of the competition “The Uzbek Language Unites Us All!” were presented with commemorative gifts.

Once again, the event highlighted that our mother tongue is a symbol of power, unity, and spiritual heritage.
