Today, environmental protection, the expansion of green areas, and the promotion of ecological sustainability have become key priorities in our country. Among the wide-ranging national projects being implemented across Uzbekistan, the meaningful environmental initiatives carried out by the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) deserve special recognition.

In particular, the team of the Industrial Railway Transport Department is actively contributing to the nationwide “Green Space” initiative, by developing lush parks and green zones.

Between 2024 and 2025, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the department’s staff, more than 110,000 poplar trees, nearly 120,000 poplar cuttings, 800 paulownia trees, and 300 grapevines have been planted and are being carefully maintained across an area exceeding 18.7 hectares.

At present, a greenhouse has been built on a one-hundred-square-meter plot allocated for the “Green Space” project, where 600 strawberry seedlings are being cultivated. In addition, a subsidiary farm has been established on-site, where 50 turkeys, 100 ducks, and 30 geese are being raised, effectively launching small-scale poultry farming.

On the initiative of the railway workers, a 400-square-meter pond has also been constructed, with plans to begin fish farming in the near future.

The efforts undertaken within the framework of the “Green Space” nationwide initiative not only make our homeland greener and more beautiful but also represent an important step toward creating a clean and sustainable environment for future generations.
