Social Facilities Department

In Uzbekistan, large-scale work is being carried out to create an effective system of preschool education, aimed at the comprehensive and harmonious development of the younger generation, introducing modern forms and methods of teaching and upbringing. In this process, the Social Facilities Department of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC (AMMC) plays a significant role.

The history of the department began on 29 March 1974 with the organization of the Health Shop, which was later separated into an independent service within the Housing and Communal Services structure. At that time, the shop included:

  • 10 kindergartens;
  • a health dispensary for factory employees;
  • sports facilities;
  • the Palace of Culture “Metallurg”;
  • the children’s health camp “Tong.”

Further development took place in stages:

  • 1975 — the children’s health camp “Blue Mountains” for 320 places was included;
  • 1978 — the camp “Gulzor” was built;
  • 1979 — the shop was renamed the Service for Maintenance of Socio-Cultural Facilities;
  • 1980 — the camp “Metallurg” was built;
  • 1981–1993 — kindergartens Nos. 28, 31, 33, 34, 35, 39, and 9 were opened;
  • 2003 — the “Oltin Olma” boarding house was built;
  • 2011 — the service was officially renamed the Social Facilities Department;
  • 2013 — the camp “Istiklol” and the “Delfin” aquapark were built;
  • 2014 — the “AMMC” Sports Complex was commissioned;
  • 2020 — Kindergarten No.20 was opened.

Currently, the department manages 39 structural units. 3,336 children are enrolled in 15 preschool institutions.

The department also oversees:

  • “Bolajon” Park;
  • 4 children’s health camps;
  • “Delfin” Aquapark;
  • Palace of Culture “Metallurg”;
  • “AMMC” Sports Complex;
