Central Metrology Laboratory

The Central Metrology Laboratory (CML) began its operations in 1965 as a group within the Central Laboratory of Automation and Mechanization (CLAM).

At the initial stage, CLAM included the following groups:

  • Departmental verification of measuring instruments;
  • Repair of control and measuring instruments and automation tools;
  • Repair of weighing equipment, among other functions.

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Metrology” No. 1004-XII dated 28 December 1993, and in order to ensure independence and objectivity, in 2001 the departmental verification group was separated from the Central Laboratory of Automation and Geophysics (CLAG) and transformed into an independent entity — the Central Metrology Laboratory, which continues to operate successfully to this day.

Currently, the laboratory employs 11 metrologists. Within its accreditation, the Central Metrology Laboratory provides metrological services (verification and calibration) for over 35,000 measuring instruments used across all structural units of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC (AMMC).

The laboratory operates according to approved verification and calibration schedules in accordance with the orders of the Chairman of the Board of AMMC regarding the metrological support of production. All measuring instruments undergo both state and departmental verification within the established deadlines.
