Engineering school

The Engineering School of "Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex" JSC (AMMC) is the Complex's most advanced educational division, specializing in the systematic upskilling and professional retraining of personnel in mining and metallurgy, energy, automation, and mechanical engineering.

Established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the leadership of "Almalyk MMC" JSC, the Engineering School was founded in May 2024.

In accordance with the official order on the Complex's organizational structure dated February 25, 2026, the Engineering School's separation from the Complex's Training Center into an independent structural division was confirmed. The school now reports directly to the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of "Almalyk MMC" JSC for Personnel and Social Affairs.

The Engineering School has the capacity to train 160 engineers and upskill more than 1,000 workers and staff annually. The academic building houses 4 laboratories and 8 classrooms equipped with the latest technology.

OUR CORE OBJECTIVES AND TASKS

  • Building a talent reserve: Creating a reserve of promising, technically literate personnel for the industrial and mining-metallurgical sectors, capable of managing modern technologies.
  • Upskilling Combine employees: Regularly improving the qualifications of the workers and engineering-technical staff of enterprises within "Almalyk MMC" JSC.
  • Training specialists for new capacities: Filling the more than 5,500 new technical jobs being created within the Complex's major investment projects, including the development of Copper Concentrator Plant No. 3 (CCP-3) and the "Yoshlik-1" deposit, with qualified personnel.
  • Supporting young people: Assisting college graduates without professional skills and unemployed youth through free retraining courses and providing technical skills for subsequent employment.

OUR ADVANTAGES

  • Dual education system (40/60): Training is organized on a dual system: 40% of classes cover theoretical knowledge, and 60% are devoted to building practical skills at the Combine's real production sites.
  • Short and efficient duration: The length of the training programs ranges from 3 to 6 months, depending on the chosen specialty.
  • Training on simulators: Before working with real equipment, trainees build initial skills on safe and cost-effective simulators (virtual welding, etc.).
  • Instructors with 10 years of experience: Classes are led by qualified instructors with at least 10 years of successful practical experience in production.
  • Employment opportunity: The licensed professional certificates awarded to graduates give them an advantage in the hiring process at the Complex's enterprises.

  • Welding operations (semi-automatic, argon-arc, and manual welding) – 3 months
  • Electrician – 3 months
  • Turner (lathe and milling machine operator) – 3 months
  • Mechanical repair fitter – 3 months
  • Crane operator (machinist) – 3 months
  • Automation of production processes (I&C technician) – 3 months
  • Laboratory assistant – 3 months
  • Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (Data Science & AI) – 6 months
  • IT programming (C++) – 4 months
  • Flotation operator – 3 months

MODERN TECHNO-WORKSHOP AND LABORATORIES

Our school is equipped with a total of 36 types and 217 units of the most modern training equipment in the fields of mechanical engineering, energy, instrumentation and automation (I&C), and ore processing:

  • CNC lathe and milling machines: High-precision, computer numerically controlled 5-axis metalworking machines for shaping metal parts.
  • Hydraulic testing stand: A stand that enables more than 30 different laboratory tests to be performed using water, gas, and oil.
  • Plasma metal-cutting machine: Equipment for precisely cutting steel sheets up to 6000x2000 mm using plasma.
  • Siemens programmable controllers (PLC) and I&C systems: Siemens automation stands capable of managing more than 1,000 technological operations in production automation.
  • Pneumatics and electro-pneumatics laboratory: Lab stands designed for conducting more than 30 practical laboratory exercises.
  • Virtual welding simulator: A modern simulator that thoroughly teaches 3 welding techniques without consuming any material.
  • Muffle laboratory furnace and flotation machine: Equipment for melting metals at extremely high temperatures and for modeling mineral processing under laboratory conditions.
