On June 30, young workers of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant will celebrate the national holiday – Youth Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In anticipation of this date, as part of the Youth Month, thematic events are being held in all divisions of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant.
One of them took place on June 21 at the copper processing plant. The meeting with young workers of the structural divisions of the plant was attended by the Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, Senator Abdulla Khursanov. During a conversation with activists of the Youth Union, Abdulla Kholmuradovich reminded those gathered about the work that is being carried out in our country for the purpose of systematically supporting young people in all spheres of life.
In particular, it was noted that during the videoconference chaired by the head of our state, priority tasks in the system of training engineering personnel were discussed. In today’s competitive world, our country, relying on internal resources, is moving along the path of industrial development. It was discussed the need to change the directions and specialties in technical universities in accordance with the requirements of manufacturers, about training personnel in new areas, such as “cost engineering”, “comparative engineering”, “reverse engineering”; about creating conditions for conducting scientific research by young specialists. In addition, based on the chain “industry - enterprise - university”, each university will be assigned an industrial partner. All engineering universities will open departments at their partner enterprises and introduce dual education. It is noteworthy that in this regard, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant is also implementing a number of measures to implement youth policy, form a personnel reserve, and support young people. In particular, an Engineering School was created for the purpose of continuous professional development and training of the plant’s youth for management positions. In addition, the plant cooperates with the Freiberg Mining Academy (Germany). Currently, 2 young specialists of the plant are studying for a doctorate. 2 young specialists are also continuing their studies for a doctorate at Akita University in Japan. Continuing to work in this direction, we strive to train talented young people of the plant in leading universities in Germany and China. During the event, they also discussed investment projects implemented at the plant, where there is a place for talented, versatile young people. The need for knowledge of foreign languages when collaborating with leading global companies was especially noted.
During the meeting, the young people of the plant received answers to their questions and expressed their suggestions and ideas.
One of the pleasant moments of the event was the awarding of the winners of various sports competitions and contests held within the framework of the Youth Month, and the presentation of letters of gratitude to the parents of active young workers.
Also, as part of the event, the opening of the copper processing plant museum took place. The museum presents a model reflecting the technological process of crushing and enriching ore, as well as information about the history of the development of the copper processing plant and the people thanks to whom the labor glory of the plant was forged.
