Afghan Mining Specialists Visited AMMC

As part of the mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, joint projects in various fields are being consistently implemented.

A technical delegation from the Ministry of Mining and Petroleum of Afghanistan is currently visiting Uzbekistan. The purpose of the visit is to enhance the professional knowledge and practical skills of Afghan mining specialists.

Uzbekistan has significant experience in mining and geology. As part of bilateral cooperation, Afghan specialists are undergoing a 28-day advanced training course.

The educational program, titled “Laboratory and Analytical Research in Geological Exploration and Mining”, is being implemented with the support of the Uzbek Overseas Geology Company at the Institute for Advanced Training of Mining and Geological Workers at the University of Geological Sciences.

As part of the program, Afghan specialists visited the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex on January 13 current year. The guests were introduced to the technological processes at the Kalmakyr mine, one of the largest deposits in the world.

The delegation also visited the promising Yoshlik I deposit, where they also observed production operations.
