"Woman is the Pillar of Society: Together Against Crime"

On 30 July, preventive measures aimed at preventing crimes among women and strengthening their role in society were held in the structural divisions of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

The meetings were held under the motto “Woman is the pillar of society: together against crime” and were organized by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office of the town of Almalyk together with the Advisory Council on Women and Gender Equality of the AMMC. Workers from the Copper Processing plant and a copper smelter took part in them.

The event participants were the Deputy Prosecutor of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office of Almalyk Agzam Nuriddinov, the Deputy Head of the Almalyk Department of Interior Affairs for Women's Issues Iroda Musurmonkulova, the Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Almalyk MMC” on spirituality and the state language, the Chairman of the Advisory Council on Women and Gender Equality Kamola Umaralieva, as well as heads of enterprises.

At the beginning of the meeting, participants were presented with the agenda and shown a thematic video, after which invited specialists made presentations.

Thus, Deputy Prosecutor Agzam Nuriddinov spoke about the importance of increasing women’s legal literacy and strengthening their role in crime prevention. He dwelled in detail on the most common crimes committed among women, analyzed the causes of their occurrence and possible consequences, backing up his speech with real examples from practice. In conclusion, he called on the meeting participants to avoid such negative phenomena and always act within the law.

Deputy Head of the Almalyk Department of Interior Affairs for Women's Issues, Senior Inspector Iroda Musurmonkulova devoted her speech to the current problems that women face today. She spoke about the causes and consequences of family conflicts, measures to prevent them, and also explained the meaning and legal force of a protective order that is issued to women who have suffered from harassment and domestic violence. In addition, she drew special attention to the need to exercise legal caution when applying for loans, providing guarantees and in other financial matters, so as not to become a victim of fraudsters.

Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of AMMC Kamola Umaralieva in her speech emphasized the important role of women both in the family and in the production sphere. She also spoke about the conditions created for the plant’s female workers and noted the importance of creating a healthy spiritual and moral atmosphere in work collectives.

At the end of the meeting, there was an open discussion of issues of interest to the participants of the event. Representatives of enterprises and workers exchanged opinions, voiced their proposals and received comprehensive answers to topics of interest to them.
