The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus Visited AMMC

08 April 2026, 9:5 427

In recent years, the mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus has been steadily developing, reaching a qualitatively new level in areas such as industry, science, investment, and education. The partnerships between the two countries are strengthening through the implementation of major production projects, the introduction of cutting-edge innovations, and the active exchange of experience.

In this context, the delegation led by Alexander Ogorodnikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan, recently visited Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex to get acquainted with its operations.

During the visit, the guests visited the “Qalmaqqir” mine's observation deck, where they learned about ore extraction and transportation processes using large-capacity mining equipment.

The delegation then visited the Central Repair and Mechanical Plant. There, they were shown ongoing equipment repair and modernization work, as well as the operation of high-precision production units.

The guests were particularly interested in the production abilities of the Copper Processing Plant No. 3 built as part of a large-scale investment project.

Alexander Ogorodnikov noted:

- This isn't my first time here. Every time I come here, I'm once again convinced of the scale of AMMC and its investment potential – it's truly impressive. Six months ago, I was already in your town and saw that the construction of MOF-3 was nearing completion. Today, I'm witnessing its successful operation. Large production complexes like this largely determine the technological level of a country. They harmoniously integrate not only production processes but also geological exploration and the auxiliary systems that support the core activity. And most importantly, they create products with high added value. However, the greatest asset remains the people working here. It is their professionalism and dedication that enable us to achieve outstanding results, even in the most challenging tasks.

During the visit, the delegation also visited the Almalyk branch of NUST MISIS, where they learned about modern teaching conditions, innovative approaches to the educational process, and opportunities for scientific research.

The visit concluded with the roundtable discussion, during which the delegation, led by Alexander Ogorodnikov, received comprehensive answers to all their questions from the plant's specialists.

Overall, the meeting was an important step toward further expanding bilateral cooperation, promoting new joint projects, and deepening the exchange of experience.
