At the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, special attention is paid to ensuring the transparency of financial and economic processes and the systematic improvement of the professional qualifications of employees. In this regard, on February 18 of this year, a scientific and practical seminar themed “Priority areas of reform in budget and tax policy” was organized for employees of the Complex economic unit at the Almalyk branch of NUST MISIS.

The event was attended by Sadi Shermatov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors for Personnel and Social Affairs at “Almalyk MMC” JSC, representatives of the Tax Committee, the Interregional Tax Inspectorate for Large Taxpayers, the Resource Tax Administration Department, and representatives of the Tashkent State University of Economics.

The main goal of the seminar is to inform specialists about changes in the tax and budgetary policies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which came into force on January 1, 2026, and to ensure the correct and uniform application of new legislation in the practical activities of the Complex.

During the seminar, industry experts provided a detailed overview of the latest changes in taxation and accounting. Particular attention was paid to calculation of income tax, mechanisms for the return of overpaid amounts of VAT and excise tax, as well as other current issues of tax administration. Participants were given explanations and recommendations.

In addition, experts discussed in detail the issues of social payments – benefits for personal income tax and social tax, the specifics of application of resource taxes, including the subsoil use tax, as well as the procedure for water resources and property taxation. A separate block was devoted to the analysis of the efficiency of the Complex financial and economic activities and tools for increasing its profitability.

Holding of such seminars promotes the development of professional competencies among industry workers and simultaneously strengthens the economic sustainability of the plant.
