The new electronic conveyor scales at the factory ensure high efficiency

08 October 2025, 12:25 589

At present, under the “Digital AMMC-2030” concept, large-scale iniativies are underway to integrate digital technologies into all areas of the plant’s operations. These efforts are aimed at improving the efficiency of business and production processes, optimizing the use of fuel and energy resources, minimizing paper and document circulation, and reducing the cost of production.

In particular, special attention is being paid to automating technological processes at the Copper Concentrating Plant-2. According to Izzatillo Turgunbayev, Head of the Plant’s Process Control Automation Service, four mechanical conveyor scales installed on the first stage mills in the Crushing and Flotation Department have been replaced with EBW 10-HD electronic conveyor scales – advanced equipment manufactured in Germany. This project has had a significant impact not only from a technical standpoint but also on the plant’s overall production performance.

The impementation of this project also saw active participation from the Production Automation Department and the Plant’s Process Control Auotomation Service staff. In particular, control and instrumentation mechanics Aleksandr Aliev, Burkhon Khaydarov, and Timur Khudoyberdiev carried out the dismantling and installation works. Additionally, first-category software engineer Ilhom Tursunboyev developed the control program using TIA Portal software, while instrumentation and automation engineer Sirojiddin Abdisamatov performed the calibration and adjustment tasks.

The main advantage of these electronic scales is their ability to deliver highly precise measurements, unlike traditional mechanical systems. This helps optimize raw material consumption and significantly reduce errors. While mechanical scales had an error margin of 5-6%, the electronic scales ensure a precision level of just 0-2%, making the grinding process control much more accurate and reliable.

In addition, the EBW 10-HD scales provide real-time data, enabling faster and more efficient decision-making. This innovation has reduced time and energy consumption in the grinding and flotation processes. Previously, workers spent considerable time adjusting mechanical scales, whereas the new electronic systems require much less maintanance and are easier to operate. Moreover, the electronic systems fully comply with safety standards, ensuring greater protection for employees.

This project stands as a vivid example of integrating the world’s most advanced technologies into Uzbekistan’s industrial sector. The modernization initiative marks a significant step toward enhancing the production efficiency of the Copper Concentration Plant-2 and aligning its operations with international standards.
