23 October 2025, 16:14 630

In recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and France has been steadily developing. Political, economic, and cultural ties have strengthened mutual trust, creating new opportunities for joint projects in industry, energy, and education. In particular, the introduction of French technologies and expertise into production sectors has played a significant role in enhancing Uzbekistan’s industrial potential.

With this in mind, on October 22, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan, Mr. Walid Fouque, paid a visit to the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC).

During the meeting, Chairman of the Management Board of AMMC Abdulla Khursanov spoke about the ongoing modernization processes at the enterprise and future plans to expand production capacities. He also emphasized prospects for new joint projects with French companies based on modern technologies.

For reference: During the President of Uzbekistan’s visit to the French Republic in March of this year, a Joint Declaration on establishing a Strategic Partnership was signed, along with a substantial package of agreements covering various areas of cooperation. In addition, the President met with the heads of France’s leading companies, banks, and organizations, during which an Investment and Innovation Cooperation Program was adopted. The program includes concrete joint projects worth a total of 6.5 billion euros.

The visit of Ambassador Walid Fouque to AMMC can be seen as another important step toward elevating mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries to a new level and further strengthening partnership relations.
