In the modern world, where information technology is rapidly developing, virtually all areas of human activity are closely connected to the digital space. However, with the widespread use of information systems, new methods of cybercrime also emerge.

Today, ensuring the security of personal data and financial resources of government agencies, large industrial enterprises, and ordinary citizens is becoming one of the most pressing issues. Reliable protection in the digital environment and countering cybercriminals require not only the professional knowledge of specialists, but also the attentiveness of each person, digital literacy, and strict adherence to security rules.

In order to prevent, timely detect and prompt disclose cybercrimes, the law enforcement agencies are implementing a number of modern high-tech information systems.

In particular, the specialized automated system “CARDBLOCK” allows for the prompt identification of funds illegally stolen from bank cards, the automatic blocking of suspicious accounts to which funds were transferred, and thereby minimizing financial damage to the victim.

In turn, the “TURON” information system, which utilizes artificial intelligence to digitalize, consolidate, and quickly analyze crime information, significantly accelerates the decision-making process.

To improve the efficiency of investigative operations and processes, the “UNIFIED INFORMATION SYSTEM” and “E-MATERIAL” modules, which provide electronic recording of criminal cases and appeals, as well as the “IIV DOC” system, which digitizes the department internal document flow, are successfully used.

The “CYBER SHIELD BOT” system (@cybershielduz_bot) has been launched for widespread use. It automatically detects traditional links and additional applications containing viruses distributed via Telegram and warns users about them.

No matter how sophisticated modern cybersecurity systems are, fraudsters still try to take advantage of people’s blind confidence, haste, or lack of financial literacy.

To avoid falling victim to cyber-traps, everyone must strictly adhere to the 5 golden rules of protection against cyber fraud:

First, never trust calls from strangers claiming to be bank employees or representatives of any organization, and especially never give them your personal information.

Second, never follow the suspicious or unknown links received via social networks or instant messengers. They can lead to malicious resources and become a source of virus infection for your device.

Third, in no event shall open suspicious files received from unknown individuals on Telegram and other services, especially files with the .apk or .zip extensions.

Fourth, disregard the offers of various online projects that promise get-rich-quick or guaranteed high income in a short period of time.

Fifth, when making purchases online, never transfer money in advance until you receive the goods. This is one of the basic rules of financial security.

It is also important to remember that, in accordance with current legislation, the import, storage, and use of certain technically complex devices that may pose an increased threat to the radio frequency spectrum or government communications networks if used without appropriate permission are prohibited within the country. These include, in particular, unauthorized Starlink satellite internet systems, high-power Wi-Fi routers, devices for jamming mobile phone and GPS signals, unregistered high-power drones, and satellite phones. Violation of established requirements entails liability provided by law.

It is important to remember: scammers always try to force people to act hastily. Therefore, when faced with any suspicious situation in the digital space, it is worth to pause, calmly think everything over, and double-check the information received. This usual practice can protect you and your close ones from serious financial and other losses.
