Advanced engineering school will create a chain “industry-enterprise-university”

04 March 2025, 9:8 947

On June 20, 2024, under the chairmanship of the head of our state, a meeting was held in the innovative educational and industrial technology park “Inno” dedicated to the training of engineering personnel and the improvement of the higher education system.

During the meeting, it was noted that many domestic industrial enterprises are forced to spend significant funds on training workers abroad or attract foreign specialists. In this regard, a decision was made to establish a system for training highly qualified personnel within the country, based on advanced international experience.

One of the key steps in this direction will be the creation of a network of departments at partner enterprises of engineering universities and the introduction of a dual training system. This will allow final-year students to undergo the educational process and practical training directly in production, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills. As part of this initiative, Advanced Engineering Schools will begin operating at engineering universities, and two-year practice-oriented master’s degree programs will be launched.

As part of the implementation of this initiative, an event was held at the Almalyk branch of NRTU MISiS, where presentations were made on the creation of the Advanced Engineering School. The event was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan K. Sharipov, representatives of the Tashkent State Technical University, the University of Geological Sciences, Navoi University of Mining Technologies, Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute, Andijan Machine-Building Institute, Namagan Engineering and Economic Institute, Tashkent State Transport University, Jizzakh Polytechnic University, Karshi State Engineering Institute, Institute of Nuclear Physics, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk MMC for Personnel and Social Issues S. Shermatov.

Director of the Almalyk branch of NRTU MISiS F. Yarkulov presented the concept of the Advanced Engineering School, its educational areas, educational programs and needs for laboratory equipment.

Deputy Director of the Innovation Center A. Khasanov spoke about the formation of a list of research topics on which the master’s students of the Advanced Engineering School will work.

In addition, representatives of higher education institutions also held presentations of their projects within the framework of this initiative.

It was noted that the creation of Advanced Engineering Schools at engineering universities in cooperation with high-tech enterprises within the framework of the “industry - enterprise - university” model will improve the quality of training specialists and make a significant contribution to the development of the country’s economy.
