Central Asia", which is currently taking place in Tashkent, Rector of the University of Science and Technology "MISiS" Alevtina Chernikova and Chairman of the Board of JSC "Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex " Abdulla Khursanov signed an agreement on the establishment of the Advanced Engineering School.
On the second day of the exhibition, a presentation of the signed agreement on the opening of a school called "GeoMetTech" was held. The event was attended by Rector of "MISiS" Alevtina Chernikova, the management of AMMC, heads and specialists of the plant's departments, as well as teachers and students.
As part of the presentation, the scientific director of the Advanced Engineering School "MAST" Igor Ivanov and the director of the Advanced Engineering School "MISiS" Andrey Komissarov spoke in detail about the main provisions of the agreement. Key information about the school's activities, admission rules, training format, as well as interaction with the industrial partner, AMMC, for which the school will train qualified engineering personnel, was presented.
After the presentation, an open dialogue took place between the rector of MISiS, AMMC management, students and teachers, which took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere. The participants discussed the priority areas and prospects of the school.
For reference: the creation of the Advanced Engineering School "GeoMetTech" is aimed at training highly qualified engineers capable of solving strategic problems of developing industrial sectors of Uzbekistan, including AMMC, using modern knowledge and technologies.
The training program will cover such key areas as "Mining and beneficiation", "Metallurgy of rare, rare earth and heavy metals", "Digital materials science and new technologies", as well as "Digital transformation of technological processes".
Training will start on September 1, 2025 under the "Metallurgy" program. In the 2025/2026 academic year, master's students will be able to choose one of two areas: "Mineral Processing" or "Digital Process Control". In the future, it is planned to expand the list of educational programs.
