Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine continues to actively support social projects. Another confirmation of this good tradition was the grand opening of the specialized boarding school No. 71 in the Syrdarya district of the Syrdarya region after reconstruction.

The repair work was fully financed by Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the plant, the leadership of the regional and district administration, the officers of the Syrdarya department of the National Agency for Social Protection, deputies of the local Kengash, teachers and pupils of the boarding school, their parents, as well as veterans and representatives of the public.

The speakers noted that in our country, under the leadership of the President, all the necessary conditions are created for the education of children with disabilities. They are given increased attention, care and support. At the same time, it is important to emphasize that Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, along with the implementation of production tasks, is actively involved in solving social issues and supports projects aimed at helping those who are especially in need.

After the official part, the symbolic red ribbon was cut, and the building of the boarding school was handed over for use.

The building of the boarding school, built in 1965, is intended for the education and upbringing of children with disabilities in physical and mental development. As a result of the reconstruction, it was completely transformed: specialized classrooms, an assembly and sports hall, a canteen, a library and sanitary facilities were repaired. Windows, water supply and lighting systems were replaced, the roof was updated, the facade was decorated in a modern style. Video surveillance, fire safety and power supply systems were installed on the territory.

The school is designed for 240 pupils and is equipped with everything necessary for comfortable living and studying: bedrooms, classrooms and technology rooms, a canteen, a gym. Additional premises were also built - a waiting room, a laundry, a warehouse, a checkpoint, a boiler room, a summer kitchen, a greenhouse, sanitary facilities. The territory is equipped with sports and playgrounds, gazebos, asphalted and landscaped paths, planted trees and green spaces.

- More than 200 children with special educational needs are registered in the region. This school accepts pupils not only from Syrdarya, but also from Jizzakh and Tashkent regions, – said the director of the boarding school Rustam Ergashev. – Children from 7 to 18 years old with severe disabilities study and undergo rehabilitation here. A group "Care" has been created for them, where specialists work with children, providing psychological and social support, helping them adapt to life and prepare for work. In addition, the boarding school has 13 technology rooms where children receive practical skills: carpentry and metalworking, hairdressing and sewing, landscaping and others. All this helps them gain self-confidence and find their place in life. In the near future, we plan to open a production workshop and a small farm. - My son Khushnudbek Khabibullaev is a 5th-grader at this boarding school. Today I saw what wonderful conditions have been created for our children – cozy classrooms, comfortable bedrooms, modern equipment. All this evokes only a feeling of deep gratitude. The attention paid to children with disabilities in our country cannot be overestimated. On behalf of all parents, I say a huge thank you to the head of our state.
