+998 71 619 23 33Over the past six years, the number of cybercrime-related complaints has increased 48-fold. Last year, 82% of all registered frauds and 76% of thefts were committed in cyberspace. As a result of these crimes, the material damage caused to individuals and businesses exceeded 2 trillion UZS.
Experts are also seriously concerned about the rapidly growing popularity of online gambling among young people. Such entertainment poses a threat not only to the material well-being of young people, but also to their mental health and future.
According to experts, addiction to virtual gambling (ludomania) can bring the younger generation to a profound social crisis, leading to family breakdown and an increase in other serious crimes. It is particularly alarming that, due to large losses and debts, some people find themselves in desperate situations and even commit suicide.
These alarming facts were voiced on 18 of this year during the regular preventive event organized for the staff of the Technological Transport Department. Major M. Khusanov, Head of Unit No. 3 of the Crime Prevention Service of the Tashkent Region Department of Internal Affairs at AMMC, and Major A. Rasuliy, Senior Investigator of the Transport Security Department, attended the event.
The specialists urged employees to remain vigilant and provided a number of important recommendations. Specifically, they emphasized not to click on suspicious links, being wary of messages in messengers promising "winnings" or "free money," and not to disclose bank card information to anyone.
Particular attention was paid to the fact that five-digit confirmation codes received via SMS should never be told to strangers. Furthermore, parents were advised to regularly monitor financial transactions and apps installed on their children's mobile devices, as this is one of the most important ways to prevent various unpleasant situations.
