In the rapidly evolving digital age, information technology and artificial intelligence have become an integral part of our daily lives, opening up a wealth of new opportunities and making life more convenient. However, just as every coin has a downside, the achievements of the digital world can be used for criminal purposes.

The number of cyber frauds, theft of citizens’ funds, and other cybercrimes is growing every day. To avoid falling into the craftily laid traps of scammers, each of us must exercise increased vigilance, develop digital skills, and improve our financial literacy.

To raise awareness and improve cybersecurity knowledge among employees at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, the company regularly holds preventative meetings. Similar events were held at the combined heat and power plant and in the garment production workshop of the Consumer Goods Production Department. During the meetings, issues of combating cybercrime, as well as prevention of fraud committed through social networks and using bank cards, were discussed in detail.

The event was attended by employees of the Cybercrime Department of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of Tashkent region – Lieutenants Shavkat Yuldashev and Asliddin Botiraliev, as well as employees of the law enforcement intelligence operations service of the Internal Affairs Department at the AMMC of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of Tashkent region – Lieutenant Colonel Davron Abdurakhmanov and Major Nizomiddin Turgunboev.

Experts used real-life examples to educate employees about modern cyber threats, fraudulent links, and common telephone scams. Particular attention was paid to the need to exercise caution when receiving suspicious “.apk” files via the Telegram messenger, which may contain malware, and to enable two-factor authentication to reliably protect personal accounts.

In addition, experts recommended that employees not tell anyone the secret codes of bank cards and confirmation codes received in SMS messages, and also not click on suspicious links distributed under the guise of various social surveys or “prize giveaways.”

During the event, employees received detailed answers to their questions and expanded their knowledge of safe behavior in the digital environment.

To consolidate the acquired knowledge and apply it in everyday life, specialists also distributed special leaflets and informational materials (brochures) to employees containing information on the main types of cybercrime and ways to protect against them.

Such open and systematic meetings not only contribute to the digital literacy of the Complex employees, but also create an important foundation for the reliable protection of their personal data and financial security.
