30 June 2025, 16:11 765

Due to the initiatives of the head of our state, the fight against corruption in Uzbekistan has entered a new stage – large-scale reforms aimed at ensuring transparency, fairness, digitalization and accountability in management are being implemented in the country.

JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” is also actively working in this direction. Recently, the plant successfully passed an audit conducted by the certification body "Management Certification" and received a positive conclusion.

Today, the management of AMMC was awarded the international certificate ISO 37001:2016 and its national analogue Oʻz DSt ISO 37001:2019 – standards regulating the anti-corruption management system.

Reference: ISO 37001:2016 is an authoritative international standard that establishes requirements and recommendations for the implementation, application, control, analysis and improvement of anti-corruption systems. It helps organizations identify and effectively manage both internal and external corruption risks.

The received certificates confirm that the activities of AMMC comply with both international and national standards in the field of anti-corruption management. This also imposes responsibility on the management and all levels of the enterprise's management for compliance with the principles of transparency, openness and accountability.

ISO 37001:2016 certification is not only a step towards improving corporate governance, but also an important factor in increasing the investment attractiveness of the enterprise, strengthening the trust of international partners, and increasing the business reputation and competitiveness of AMMC in the global market.

It should be noted that this standard is becoming one of the key requirements for companies to enter international stock markets and participate in international business.

In 2021–2024, as well as in the first half of 2025, AMMC, in cooperation with the Anti-Corruption Agency and the Ministry of Mining and Geology, carried out a lot of work to reduce corruption risks.

In particular:

  • more than 20 internal regulatory documents were developed and implemented in accordance with international standards;
  • more than 100 functions and tasks of the plant were analyzed for corruption;
  • specific measures were taken to reduce risks in relation to the most vulnerable areas;
  • all internal regulations underwent anti-corruption expertise, as a result of which more than 50 inconsistencies and deficiencies were eliminated in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.

Based on the results of 2024:

  • AMMC took 11th place among 102 state bodies and organizations in the anti-corruption efficiency rating (and 8th place among joint-stock companies);
  • according to the Openness Index, the plant took 1st place among 98 republican executive authorities, scoring 91.8 points;
  • in the digitalization rating – 4th place, with a result of 92.5 points.

The management and staff of AMMC intend to continue to closely cooperate with relevant agencies to improve the effectiveness of anti-corruption activities, consolidate the results achieved and reach new heights.

Shuhrat Juraev,

Acting Head of Compliance Control Service
