“Fighting corruption is a nationwide duty and a matter of conscience for every patriot.”
According to the approved schedule, on November 21, such sessions were held for the workforces of the “Kalmakyr” Mining Administration, “Yoshlik-1” mine, Technological Transport Department, Explosive Materials Plant, “Kauldy” mine, 3rd Copper Concentrator Plant, the Directorate for construction of Mining-Transport Complexes and Infrastructure Facilities, and the Lime Plant.
The discussion were attended by Aziz Rasuliy, senor investigator (major) of the Tashkent Region Department of Internal Affairs assigned to AMMC; Murtozakhon Abdullakhonov, Deputy Imam of the “Hilol” Mosque; Gulnoza Sabriyeva and Imomali Botirov, leading specialists of the AMMC Compliance Service.
Speakers provided detailed information about the dangers that corruption poses to society and the ongoing efforts to combat it.
According to Article-3 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Combatting Corruption”, corruption is refined as: “the unlawful use by a person of their official position for the purpose of obtaining material or non-material benefits for themselves or others, as well as the unlawful provision of such benefits”.
Corruption undermines democracy and the rule of law, erodes public trust in the state and government institutions, violates human rights, and impedes the development of a market economy and fair competition. It leads to monopolization in various sectors, enables large-scale misappropriation of budget funds, worsens living standards, deepens social inequality, and increases poverty. It also fuels organized crime, terrorism, and other offenses, resulting in countless harmful consequences.
During the event, information was also presented on the anti-corruption measures implemented within AMMC. These include: Eliminating corruption within the central administration and all structural enterprises. Raising employees’ legal awareness and legal culture. Establishing a zero-tolerance attitude toward any form of corruption across the company. Prioritizing preventive actions and consistently implementing them throughout the organization. Ensuring timely detection, prevention, and elimination of corrupt practices. Guaranteeing the inevitability of responsibility for corruption-related offenses.
Every individual hired by AMMC must be personally acquainted with the company’s Anti-Corruption Policy and sign to confirm their commitment to comply fully with its requirements without exception.
