In connection with December 9 – International Anti-Corruption Day, another open roundtable discussion was held under the slogan: “Fighting corruption is a common duty and a matter of conscience for every patriotic citizen!” The event took place at the Industrial Railway Transport Department.

Employees and engineering-technical specialists from structural divisions such as the Automobile Transport Department, the Thermal Power Plant, and the “Almalyk Metallurgical Construction” Trust took part in the event.

Participants included A.Normanov, Senior Investigator of the Almalyk City Investigation Department under the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs, M.Abdullakhonov, Deputy Imam of the “Hilol” Jome Mosque in Almalyk, and AMMC Compliance Service leading specialists G. Sabriyeva and I.Botirov, who provided detailed information on the nature of corruption, the threats it poses to society, and ongoing efforts to combat it.

“Corruption is a terrible scourge that attacks society from various directions. It undermines the foundations of democracy and the rule of law, leads to violations of human rights, and creates favorable conditions for organized crime, terrorism, and other threats to take root and flourish.
This harmful phenomenon exists in every country. Although the international community has undertaken numerous effective measures to eliminate it, corruption has not yet been completely eradicated.
In our country, consistent measures are being taken to introduce a system based on advanced international standards and best practices for preventing and resolutely combating corruption. In recent years, several normative legal documents have been adopted, forming a reliable system that relies on global experience in organizing anti-corruption efforts.” — said A.Normanov, Senior Investigator of the Almalyk City Investigation Department under the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs.

During the discussion, participants examined ways to strengthen a culture of anti-corruption, reinforce principles of integrity, and increase the legal literacy of employees.
