From October 22 to 24 of this year, the 18th International Exhibition “Mining, Metallurgy and Metalworking – Mining Metals Uzbekistan 2024” and the 6th International Mining and Metallurgical Forum “Regional and International Mining and Industrial Cooperation: Important Steps and Progress Pathways” were held at the Uzexpocenter in Tashkent.
The exhibition has become a comfortable platform for finding promising solutions in matters of modernization, digitalization and improving the environmental safety of enterprises, which is especially relevant in the context of global challenges facing the mining and metallurgical industries.
Over 170 companies and brands from 19 countries took part in MiningMetals Uzbekistan 2024: Austria, Great Britain, Germany, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, the Republic of Korea, Latvia, UAE, Russia, USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland, Estonia, South Africa. These figures are record-breaking for the entire period of the exhibition. The geography of participants expands every year, and this year Estonia and South Africa will debut.
Traditionally, among the domestic participants are the flagships of the mining industry and metallurgy: Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex - production and processing of gold ore, Uzmetkombinat - production of products from ferrous and non-ferrous metals, rolled products and steel grinding balls, as well as Uzelektroapparat, Chirchik Transformer Plant, etc.
Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex took part in the international exhibition as a partner of its subsidiaries.
An important part of the business program was the 6th International Mining and Metallurgical Forum of Uzbekistan - UIMF 2024, which was held in parallel with the exhibition. The forum brought together leading industry experts to discuss current issues and prospects related to the development of the mining and metallurgical sectors. The forum included presentations of innovative solutions, scientific discussions and exchange of experience, which allowed participants not only to obtain relevant information, but also to establish long-term partnerships.
Within the framework of the forum, at panel sessions, in which specialists from JSC Almalyk MMC also acted as speakers, such topics as “National principles of international and regional industrial cooperation”, “Critically important minerals: innovative transition resources”, “The role of women in the mining industry and geology” (Women in Mining), “Smart mining equipment and conservation technologies”, “Digital solutions: end-to-end automation and predictive technologies”, etc. were discussed.
“MiningMetals Uzbekistan 2024” created conditions for strengthening existing business relationships and opening up new opportunities for cooperation, which is an important step towards sustainable growth and technological renewal of the industry.
