The team of the Copper Smelting Plant, the final link in the technological production chain of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, is celebrating the 34th anniversary of our country's independence with dignity.

In particular, during the 7 months of this year, the Combine’s team managed to fulfill the cathode copper production plan by 100.5%, the task of preparing selenium and tellurium by 100%, and the gold production plan by 100.9%.

In addition, the production forecasts for such products as silver (100%), palladium powder (102.7%), copper cuprate (100%), ammonium sulfide – bisulfide (102.7%), molybdenum soot (146.5%), and ammonium perrhenate (100.6%) were also met.

On the eve of Independence Day, construction work is underway at a number of facilities at the plant.

New furnaces will increase production volumes

In particular, rotary kilns No. 5 and 6 were built and commissioned at the Rare Metals Production Workshop. According to the head of the workshop, Izzatilla Doniyorov, the construction work, which began in 2022, was completed in May 2025. The furnace spare parts were manufactured at the Central Repair Mechanical Plant, and the construction and installation work was carried out by the Olmaliqmetallurgqurilish Trust and the Specialized Repair Works Department.

The annual production capacity of each of these furnaces is 960 tons of molybdenum semi-finished products. As a result of the construction of the furnaces and the increase in production capacity, 32 new jobs are also being created. It is noteworthy that as a result of the construction of the furnace, the volume of ammonium permanganate production is also increasing by 15-20%. Currently, in collaboration with workshop specialists and scientists from the plant, scientific work is being conducted to study the technology for the complete capture and extraction of precious metals from waste gases.

Railway expansion will increase concentrate intake

At the same time, construction works are in full swing at another important facility at the plant. In particular, the railway used to receive concentrates brought to the plant is being expanded. According to Bekzod Alimov, head of the plant's production and technical department, the expansion of this 11b-berk railway will increase the volume of concentrates received by the newly built Copper Processing Plant-3. If previously the concentrate was received at this facility in 5 dump cars, now it will be possible to receive the concentrate in 9 dump cars. Currently, Olmaliqmеtallurgqurilish Trust is strengthening the supporting foundations of the railway and is carrying out work on the construction of a reinforcing frame. After that, concrete work will be completed and steel tracks will be laid by the Industrial Railway Transport Department.

New building ensures production efficiency

A number of construction works were also carried out this year in the Air Distribution Shop, one of the main divisions of the plant. In particular, the former argon shop was reconstructed by Olmaliqmеtallurgqurilish Trust and brought to an almost ready state. The shop's oxygen cylinder loading section will be moved to this building. According to the head of the shop, Saidulla Murodillayev, the production process in the new building will be fully automated, and modern bridge cranes will also help ensure the efficiency of work at the site.

Improved product loading and shipping quality

Due to the increasing demand for copper in the world and domestic markets, a number of inconveniences arose in the processing and packaging department of the plant when sending products to customers. In order to eliminate these inconveniences and create the necessary conditions for customers, reconstruction work was carried out in the loading building of the department. According to the head of the department, Abbosbek Yuldashev, previously only 1 truck could enter the product loading area at a time. As a result of the reconstruction, 3 trucks could enter the product loading area at the same time and load and unload cargo. This allows to save time and accelerate the process of loading products. The reconstruction work was carried out by Olmaliqmеtallurgqurilish Trust.
