On February 22 of this year, the traditional “Spartakiada” sports games, which are held annually among the workers of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, started.

The opening ceremony took place in the Metallurg sports hall, where the results of the “Spartakiada-2024” competitions were also summed up.

The event was attended by representatives of the Trade Union Council of AMMC employees, responsible persons of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as employees of structural divisions and sports instructors.

The winners of the first group (central repair and mechanical plant, copper smelter, industrial rail transport department), the second group (production automation department, Kauldy mine, technological transport department) and the third group (Angren ore administration-1, mine construction department-1, motorcade No. 2 of Angren ore administration-2) were awarded with memorable gifts.

In addition, the most active sports instructors of the structural divisions of AMMC received awards.

Last year, teams competed in 12 sports, and this year their number increased to 13.

During the event, it was noted that, thanks to the initiative of the head of our state, team sports are actively developing. It was also emphasized that the complex will organize basketball and handball competitions as part of the Spartakiada.

During the event, creative performances by artistic groups of the Metallurg Palace of Culture were also shown.

On this day, as part of the Spartakiada-2025 competition, volleyball games were held among the teams of the groups.
