At the initiative of the head of our state, special attention is being paid to the development of football in the country. As a result, Uzbekistan national teams of various age groups successfully compete in prestigious international tournaments, honorably representing the country on the world stage.

The national team qualification for the World Cup was also a historic achievement, after which the world’s leading football clubs demonstrated increasing interest in Uzbek players.

The management of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex also pays great attention to the development of football, especially youth football. For years, the AMMC Football Club Academy trainees are provided a supportive environment for training and professional growth. Today, the academy has three full-size football fields (one with artificial turf and two with natural grass), as well as two mini-fields with artificial turf. Three more full-size fields will be adjoined in the near future.

According to Bakhodir Mirzaev, General Director of “OKMK” FC, large-scale reconstruction is currently underway at the Metallurg Stadium. On the spot of the complex, known among locals as the “old stadium”, three modern fields are being built that fully comply with FIFA standards: two fields with natural grass and one with artificial turf, 105 x 68 meters in size.

Small stands with 400 seats will be installed on both sides of the new fields. In addition, a special viewing area will be arranged allowing parents to watch their children training. The complex also includes modern changing rooms and showers for young football players.

Currently, the contractor organization is laying the pitch. Previously, a special multi-layer structure approximately one meter deep was installed under the turf, and modern drainage and automatic irrigation systems were laid. All engineering systems have already passed the necessary tests and are fully ready for operation. Modern lighting equipment will also be installed on the 20-meter lighting masts. Construction began in February of current year, and work is scheduled to be completed in the coming months.

Thanks to the comprehensive support of AMMC’s management, the academy teams of various age categories regularly achieve high results in competitions. Under the leadership of Denis Khomutov, who heads the academy’s youth football development program, in 2026 the trainees have already achieved a number of significant successes. In particular, the U-13, U-14, U-15 and U-16 teams became prize winners of the Uzbekistan Championship among football academies, organized by the Uzbekistan Football Association.

The new football fields will provide a solid foundation for the further development of the academy young players and will help them to conquer new sporting heights in the future.
