The investment megaproject “Development of the “Yoshlik I” field”, implemented in accordance with the Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-2807 dated March 1, 2017 and No. PP-4731 dated May 26, 2020, is gaining momentum from year to year.
According to protocol No. 912 dated October 29, 2021, the geological reserves of the “Yoshlik I” deposit amount to more than 4.2 billion tons of ore with an average copper grade of 0.36%.
Mining and capital work is currently underway at the site.
In the period from 2017 to 2022, more than 137.8 million cubic meters of stripping work were completed, which is 104.9% of the forecast. As of January 19, 2023, more than 139.0 million cubic meters of stripping work have been completed since the beginning of the field stripping against the predicted feasibility study of the project of 133.9 million cubic meters, the overfulfillment is 5.1 million cubic meters (103.8% of the forecast).
Since the beginning of this month, 1.2 million cubic meters have been completed. And this despite adverse weather conditions.
It should be noted that more than 1,700 people are involved in the development of the “Yoshlik I” field. More than 400 pieces of equipment were also involved.
Today, the team faces serious challenges. In 2023, it is planned to fulfill the plan-task for capital mining overburden in the amount of 45.0 million cubic meters on its own and 10.0 million cubic meters through outsourcing.
