In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 4, 2024 "On measures to develop team sports and improve the system for selecting talented youth", a roadmap was approved aimed at the active development of team sports and the involvement of employees of enterprises in regular sports activities. One of the key points of this program was the holding of tournaments for the Manager's Cup among work collectives.

As part of the implementation of this resolution, as well as in honor of Youth Day, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex held a mini-football tournament for the Cup of the Chairman of the Board of JSC “AMMC” among young employees of the enterprise.

29 teams took part in the competition, which were divided into two leagues.

In the 1st league, the teams of the Qalmaqir Mine Administration and the departmental paramilitary security met in the final match. The game turned out to be tense and ended in regular time with a score of zero. The fate of the match was decided in a penalty shootout, where the security team won, snatching the cup from their opponents.

The final of the 2nd league brought together the teams of the central office and the explosive materials plant. The central office team won a confident victory with a score of 4:1, becoming the deserved owner of the trophy.

At the award ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Almalyk MMC” Abdulla Khursanov congratulated the tournament participants, expressing gratitude for their demonstrated sports spirit, determination and team cohesion. He noted that the development of mass sports in the country and at the enterprise is an important area that promotes health, the formation of a corporate culture and the support of active youth.

The winner of the first league – the team of departmental paramilitary security – was awarded the Cup of the Chairman of the Board of AMMC.

Based on the results of the tournament, the best players of the first league were also determined:

• Salim Mamajonov (departmental paramilitary security) — Best goalkeeper
• Ozod Omonov (Qalmaqir mine) — Best defender
• Fozil Urinboev (specialized repair work department) — Best forward

The Central Office team, the winner of the 2nd league, was awarded gold medals and the Cup. In this league, individual awards were received by:

• Doniyor Kurbonboev (central office) — Best goalkeeper
• Oybek Kurbonboev (design department) — Best forward
• Eler Shakhanov (explosives plant) — Best defender

Also, as part of the ceremony, the players of the AMMC team were recognized for taking the honorable second place in the Minister of Mining and Geology Futsal Cup, which took place in May of this year.
