Yesterday, on August 11, the football stadium of the AMMC sports complex was put into operation after reconstruction.

Abdulla Khursanov, Chairman of the Board of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC, President of the AMMC football team, made a speech at the opening ceremony. In his speech, he noted that the works on renovation of the field were started in connection with the requirements of the Professional Football League of Uzbekistan to the clubs, as well as participation of AMMC football club in the qualifying tournament of the Asian Champions League. Congratulating all the fans on the fact that big football returned to Almalyk, A. Khursanov wished our team good luck in the upcoming matches.

It is worth noting that as part of the reconstruction work, entirely natural turf was laid at the stadium. The field’s equipment, drainage and irrigation systems were upgraded. The stadium has become the arena for a number of international competitions, which fully meets the requirements of the Asian Football Confederation and the International Football Federation (FIFA).

Also, famous Uzbek pop artist Mukhammadziyo performed a concert program at the stadium opening ceremony.

Then the awarding ceremony was held for the winners of the international handball tournament in Italy - athletes of the AMMC handball team, as well as for the winners of the Asian chess championship - Shokhjakhon Sidikov, a trainee of the AMMC chess club.

The management presented cash prizes and valuable gifts to the winners.

Then followed the match within the 16^th round of Uzbekistan Super League between AMMC football team and “Olympik” team from Tashkent.

As a result of the match, which was full of exciting moments, the AMMC team players won with the score 2:1.

Also during the event valuable prizes were raffled off among the fans.

It is to be recalled that on August 15 this year the team with the lead of Mirjalol Kasimov will host the national team of Oman “Al-Sib” within the qualifying stage of the Asian Champions League tournament.
