Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) has been successfully cooperating with leading German companies, financial organizations and banks for many years.

As part of this partnership, a delegation from the German Development Bank KfW, headed by Executive Board member Christiane Laibach, visited the Complex  on 15 April.

The first point of the visit was the Metallurg Hall of Culture. The guests were accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of “Almalyk MMC” JSC Abdulla Khursanov. The delegation visited the museum of the Complex , where an exhibition dedicated to the Suyurlitepa archaeological site is presented, learned about the history and activities of the enterprise, and also got acquainted with the art circles operating at the Hall of Culture.

Then the guests visited the viewing platform of the Kalmakyr mine and the Yoshlik I deposit. The scale and activity of the production process aroused their sincere admiration. Particularly impressive was the construction of Copper Concentrator-3, one of the key facilities of the mega-project, designed to process 60 million tons of ore per year. The delegation also visited a copper smelter, where they were introduced to modern technological lines and production stages.

Christiane Laibach shared her impressions: “Today I learned much more about such a large industrial enterprise as the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex . I had no idea that the work at the mine could be so extensive. We were convinced that the Complex  is equipped with modern technologies and has serious potential in the extraction and processing of raw materials. This is a truly valuable resource. As representatives of KfW, we follow your projects with great interest and are ready to support them financially. We hope to expand cooperation and move together towards sustainable development.”
