+998 71 619 23 33At the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the trilateral memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex”, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the University of Utah, the leading US research university.
In the framework of this memorandum, a number of joint projects are being implemented aimed at conducting scientific researches, finding scientifically sound solutions for current production challenges, and organizing the exchange of qualified specialists. To translate this strategic partnership into practical applications, a delegation from the University of Utah recently visited Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.
The guests visited the observation platform of the “Qalmaqir” mine, the first link in the company's production chain, where they were introduced to the digital process control systems implemented.
The next stop on the delegation's agenda was Copper Processing Plant No. 3, built as part of the investment project to develop the “Yoshlik I” deposit.

- Today we visited several major production facilities at AMMC. A particularly unforgettable experience was direct observing the blasting operations at the “Qalmaqir” mine. In the United States, it's virtually impossible to observe such a process from such close distance, so this was a valuable practical experience for us. I've visited the numerous processing plants in my career, but this was the first time I've encountered a facility of such impressive scale. The scale of the complex, the state-of-the-art technologies introduced there, and, most importantly, the thoughtful approach to the rational use of mineral resources with consideration for the interests of future generations, left a profound impression on us. Today's visit once again confirmed that the collaboration between the University of Utah and Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex has a great potential and opens up new opportunities. The projects being implemented here clearly demonstrate not only the company's enormous production potential but also its high level of responsibility, strategic vision, and commitment to achieving its goals.
The delegation, which included the heads of the departments of materials science, engineering, and mining engineering, as well as specialists responsible for international scientific cooperation, also learned about the activities of the Complex engineering school.

- Today's visit left me with exceptionally vivid impressions. Each new mine causes my particular professional interest, as it is here that intense labor, modern technology, and enormous potential are concentrated. We also visited MOF-3. This production complex impressed us with its scale and technological capabilities. I am confident that the introduction of cutting-edge solutions and advanced technologies here is crucial not only for development of the mining industry in Uzbekistan, but for the global mining industry as a whole. We also learned about the work of the engineering school, which trains young specialists who will become the backbone of the mining and industrial sectors of the future. During today's tour, we once again saw that there are numerous areas for exchange and joint research between our two countries.
During the visit, the priority areas for further cooperation were identified, including mineralogy, mining, metallurgy, materials science, energy and ecology, automation, artificial intelligence, ore and industrial waste processing technologies, as well as various engineering areas. The parties discussed issues of launching joint projects in each of these areas.0+
