About the implementation of the “Yashil makon” national project at AMMC

The workforce of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant actively participates in the “Yoshil Makon” national project carried out throughout our country.

In particular, in the fall of 2023 and the spring of this year, 243 hectares of territory have been prepared for planting seedlings.

Until today, 1 million 536 thousand seedlings of various trees have been planted in this territory. 955 thousand of the total number of seedlings were planted around production facilities with medium and high environmental impact, thereby forming a “Green Belt”.

It is worth noting that employees of the plant’s structural divisions located in other cities, regions and regions of our country participate in the common event. In particular, 1 million 422 thousand seedlings were planted in the Tashkent region, including 1 million 320 thousand seedlings in Almalyk. In addition, 18,200 seedlings were planted in the form of a “Green Belt” in Chirchik, and 83,300 seedlings in Angren city. For this purpose, 42,630 seedlings were planted in the Pap district of the Namangan region, 5,000 in the Farish district of the Jizzakh region, 21,000 in the Samarkand region, and 48,500 in the Saryasiya district of the Surkhandarya region.

AMMC allocated 4.2 billion UZS for the purchase of tree seedlings.

More than 4 million poplar cuttings are being prepared for subsequent planting. A drip irrigation system is used to water the seedlings.

Nargiza Atakulova is the winner of the “Women Scientists” competition

On April 4 of this year, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation hosted an award ceremony based on the results of the “Women Scientists” scientific project competition. Based on the results of the next round of the competition, 68 women scientists recommended for funding were awarded.

It is noteworthy that among the awardees there is also a worker of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine - Nargiza Atakulova, a leading engineer for the enrichment of copper-molybdenum ores at the Yoshlik I mine, Doctor of Chemical Technology (PhD).

  1. Atakulova took part in the competition with a project on the topic “Development of technologies for processing industrial waste.”

This competition is held in order to broadly involve women in the science of our republic, to fully support the scientific ideas and developments of women engaged in scientific activities in various fields of science, education and economics.
