In the context of the growing investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan, more than two hundred local enterprises are currently cooperating with German partners. One of the key representatives of such cooperation is the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMС).

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Uzbekistan Manfred Huterer recently visited AMMС. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the complex for a detailed study of the possibilities of interaction and discussion of the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of extraction and processing of strategically important raw materials.

The Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk MMC Abdulla Khursanov conducted a tour for the distinguished guest, starting it with the museum of the history and labor glory of the complex. Then he acquainted the Ambassador with the activities of the Metallurg Palace of Culture, emphasizing that the management of the complex pays great attention not only to the development of production, but also to the social sphere: support for culture, sports and the formation of conditions for a healthy lifestyle for workers and their families.

Mr. Huterer visited the largest mines of the complex - "Kalmakyr" and "Yoshlik I", where he was informed about the process of ore mining and transportation. In addition, the guest was shown the construction work at the copper concentrator plant-3, which plays an important role in the implementation of a large investment project.

Today, AMMC actively cooperates with German partners. For example, a contract is being implemented with the company "Metso Outotec", and an agreement was concluded with the company Aurubis AG for the export of copper concentrate, which will be produced at the copper concentrator plant -3.

As part of the visit, Manfred Huterer also visited the zinc complex, where a new sulfuric acid shop is being built, equipped with advanced German equipment. The central repair and mechanical complex, which is an important executor of the Localization Program, was not ignored either.

Special attention was paid to the engineering school, built on the model of the training center of the German company "Aurubis AG". The school's curricula are developed taking into account the methods of the Technical University of Freiberg Mining Academy and such companies as Aurubis AG and GP Günter Papenburg. Modern digital platforms are used in the educational process, including access to lectures and books of the German university.

Following the visit, Manfred Huterer shared his impressions:

— I was glad to visit the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. Abdulla Kholmurodovich of the complex introduced me in detail to the mining and production processes. This is a truly unique enterprise with enormous potential. In recent years, a large amount of work has been carried out here, and the complex can be considered an example of a modern industrial enterprise. Today's visit left me with the most positive impressions.
