The Day of Workers of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan became a significant event for the staff of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) - the holiday was celebrated at a high level and was accompanied by many bright events.

In celebration of this date, on May 16, a large-scale concert with the participation of Uzbek pop stars was held at the AMMC sports complex. The event was opened by khokim of Tashkent region Zoyir Mirzayev and Chairman of the Management Board of Almalyk MMC JSC Abdulla Khursanov. Speaking to the audience, they warmly congratulated the personnel of the complex on their professional holiday and wished them success in their work.

As part of the gala evening, more than twenty best employees in industry were awarded, who were presented with the “Miner’s Glory” badges of various degrees.

The real highlight of the concert was the performance of People's Artist of Uzbekistan Yulduz Usmanova. People's Artists Maryam Sattarova and Gulsanam Mamazoitova were also greeted with enthusiastic applause. The amateur art groups of the Metallurg Hall of Culture presented the audience with bright musical numbers and stirring dances, creating a real festive atmosphere. The concert ended with a traditional colorful fireworks display.

The festive events continued on May 17. In the morning, a mass marathon was organized, in which more than 500 young workers of the plant took part. More than 500 young employees of the complex took part in a mass marathon which was organized in the morning. This marked the beginning of a public celebration dedicated to Miners and Metallurgists Day.

Thematic exhibitions organized by AMMC's structural divisions were held throughout the day. They presented achievements in production, modern technological devices used in the process of mining and processing ore as well as told about their history.

Special attention was drawn to the participation of servicemen of the military unit of the command of the security forces of the classified facilities of the Ministry of Defense. Attending such an event for the first time, they demonstrated spectacular show and performed patriotic songs, which evoked a lively response from the audience.

Sports contests organized by the Council of the AMMC Workers' Trade Union were held at the same time. Employees of the complex competed in tug-of-war, table tennis, belt wrestling, boxing, darts, chess and checkers. The contests were characterized by its intensity and high level of activity among the participants.

Following the exhibitions, the best expositions were awarded valuable prizes in various nominations:

"Best Industrial Exhibition" and the Grand Prix were awarded to the team of railway workers;

The first place was won by the Central Mechanical Repair Plant for the initiative and originality of its exhibit;

The second place was taken by the staff of the Kauldy mine, who visually presented a model of an underground mine;

The third place went to the Angren Mining Administration for a mock-up of the mine and a demonstration of equipment used in the mining industry.

The team of the Copper Concentrator Plant won in the nomination "New enterprise of New Uzbekistan";

The Technological Transport Administration was recognized as the winner in the Most Popular Exhibition category;

The Avtomobile Transport Administration received the award in the nomination "From the bright past to the bright future", and the Kalmakyr Mining Administration received the award in the nomination "History of the mining industry of Uzbekistan";

The staff of the copper smelting plant was awarded the "Power of Metallurgy" award for demonstrating a 30-ton smelting boilers;

the Copper Concentrator Plant became the winner in the nomination "The best technology of Concentrator";

Copper Concentrator Plant-2 won in the nomination "The most active participant of the AMMC-2030 Digitalization program";

The Production Automation Administration was recognized for "The best innovative ideas and green technologies.”

the team of the “Olmaliqmetallurgqurilish” group of entities became the winner in the nomination "For new ideas in the construction sector";

The AMMC Football Academy was awarded for its significant contribution to the development of youth football;

Servicemen of military unit No.9221 were awarded for selfless work in securing the state and plant property and active patriotic work.

Festive events were also held at the divisions of complex, where more than 650 employees who had worked at the enterprise for many years were awarded the honorary title of “Veteran of Labor”. On the occasion for celebration, festive tables were also arranged in sponsored specialized institutions and charity homes.

In summary, the AMMC personnel celebrated the Day of Workers of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry vividly, with a flourish and sincere respect for their work and the long-standing traditions of the industry.
