On August 22-23, a futsal tournament was held at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, dedicated to the 35^th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Its was aimed at strengthening of the health of the Complex workers, increasing their physical activity and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

At the tournament’s opening ceremony, Khokim Bohirov, Head of the Physical Culture and Sports Department of the AMMC Workers’ Trade Union Council, and Sherali Kucharov, Chief Specialist for Spiritual, Educational, and Sports Work, spoke about the attention paid in recent years to the development of sports in the country and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population.

As it was noted, such competitions not only help to arrange a meaningful leisure for employees, but also strengthen friendly relations and team spirit within work teams.

Following this, a draw took place, following which 25 teams were allocated to participate in the competitions according to the Olympic system.

Following the intense matches, the team of the Copper Concentrator took third place, and the in-house paramilitary security team took second place.

In the final match, the Kalmakyr Mining Administration team demonstrated a confident performance and won first place, becoming the winner of the tournament.

The two-day sporting competition not only determined the winners and runners-up, but also became a vibrant event uniting the Complex employees for a common goal and creating an atmosphere of athletic passion, friendship, and teamwork.
