At present, the 4th International Congress and Exhibition “Mining Industry of Uzbekistan and Central Asia” is being held in the capital city. Within the framework of this event, a plenary session took place on December 3 with the participation of heads of ministries and agencies, experts from international organizations, and representatives of leading companies.

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rustam Yusupov, emphasized that Uzbekistan holds leading positions in the region in terms of mineral and raw material potential and ranks among the world’s largest producers of gold and uranium. He also noted the significance of the updated version of the Law “On Subsoil Use,” developed in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in improving the investment climate and aligning procedures with international standards. Particular attention was drawn to the expansion of projects related to critical minerals and the growing participation of the private sector.

In addition, he highlighted the priority objectives outlined in the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy, including a substantial increase in the extraction of gold, copper, silver, and uranium, full digitalization of production processes, and the construction of modern processing facilities through large-scale investment projects. He stressed that enterprises are consistently pursuing international initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, ensuring environmental sustainability, and promoting technological modernization.

The congress program includes plenary sessions, thematic sessions, expert discussions, and presentations of major investment projects. For participants, the event serves as an important platform for exchanging new ideas, expanding cooperation, and strengthening the position of Uzbekistan’s mining industry at both regional and global levels.

As part of the event, during today’s thematic sessions, Aziz Rozikulov, Acting Director of the AMMC Digitalization Department, delivered a presentation on “Digitalization, Improving Operational Efficiency, Artificial Intelligence in Mining, and ESG Initiatives,” providing detailed information on the work being carried out at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

In addition, AMMC specialists are participating in the 6th session titled “Copper Cluster,” where discussions are being held on infrastructure development, investments, and technological solutions to strengthen Uzbekistan’s copper cluster.
